PBT's current range of courses, which are suitable for beginners and refreshers are listed below, please contact us for more information on any of the courses.

All PBT courses will be supported by specially produced comprehensive course handbooks and manuals. The course fee also includes the products and materials required for the training day and a valid certificate for insurance purposes.

PBT only use professional products by; Amirose (eye lash perming kits), Simply Beautiful Cosmetics, the Nature's Way skincare range and the Strictly Professional range of products.

All of the products demonstrated and used during the training, including student kits, will be available to buy / order after the course, or on the day, as required.

Physiology & Anatomy (1 day) This course is required as a foundation to other courses if you are new to the industry or as a refresher. The course will cover the following systems of the body:- skin structure, skeletal, muscles, lymphatic, blood circulation and and nervous system, relating to head, neck & shoulders.

	Cost: 1 Day: £120 per student inc. distance learning packs
	Or study to VTCT Level 3 - £300 PBT Course Fees + £38 VTCT fees. Full body VTCT P & A Level 3 distance learning packs with school input sessions / exam and support. This can be taken alongside VTCT reflexology and body massage for example.

Beginners Facial Therapy (2 days) You must attend Physiology & Anatomy course first if you are new to beauty. Day 1 will cover skin analysis, skin terminology, skin types, client consultation, superficial and deep cleanse procedure, how to perform a selection of facials using different masks, face, neck & shoulder massage routine will be included as well as product understanding & knowledge. A full demonstration will be given and students will have ands on practice in the afternoon. Students are asked to complete 5 case studies & complete questions. Day 2 will be approximately 3 weeks later and run 10am to 2pm approx. Students will be assessed practically and there will be an opportunity for discussion of workpacks, case studies and feed back.

Eye Enhancement (1 day) Students will learn how to tint brows & lashes and how to shape the eye brows. Also individual and strip lash application to ensure added glamour for their clients.

Eyelash Perming Using the Amirose eyelash perming system, students will learn this very popular treatment which lasts up to 6 to 8 weeks. Lashes appear longer, good for holidays. Students will learn the background, safe & hygienic procedures, troubleshooting, marketing and promotion and full hands on practical work.

Manicure (1 day) Students will learn all the required skills & knowledge to perform the perfect manicure treatment for their clients including paraffin wax treatment. The course also covers physiology & anatomy of the hand, cuticle care, filing, enameling and hand & arm massage.

Pedicure (1 day) Students will learn all the required skills & knowledge to perform the perfect pedicure treatment for their clients including paraffin wax treatment. The course also covers physiology & anatomy of the foot, cuticle care, filing, enamelling and foot and leg massage.

Cosmetic Make-up Application (1 day) Using the Simply Beautiful cosmetics range, students will learn the most effective and professional way to apply day & evening / occasional make-up to their clients in order to ensure the very best results. The course considers the differing needs of various face shapes.

Advanced Make-up Techniques (1 day) Learn even more tricks of the trade on the advanced make-up application course. The course will cover an introduction to photography make-up including bridal, glamour and fashion make-up. Courses can be tailor made on request.

Cosmetic Camouflage Make-up The students will learn how to cover birthmarks, tattoos, skin blemishes and scars. This is done by blending specialist camouflage products together to match the clients skin tones, leaving a waterproof finish. The course covers: safe and hygienic practices, client consultation, after care and home care advise, psychology of the client, identifying different scars and birthmarks, product knowledge, correct use of implements, application techniques and costings and timings

Warm Wax Depilation (Hair Removal) This is a 2 day course, where following the first day, students will be required to undertake case studies, before returning for the second day and assessment a few weeks later. Students will learn how to apply and remove warm wax safely and professionally. Study into; contra indications, physiology & anatomy, hair growth cycle, the benefits of warm wax and the background and science of how the wax is made will be undertaken on the course. The course will be taught by a combination of practical workshop work, theory and demonstration. The areas of the body covered are; legs, underarm, bikini, top lip & chin and eyebrows. This course is specially developed for the absolute beginner and will also cover the roller waxing system.

7th Heaven Facial - Total Holistic Experience

Note: This course is suitable for those who already hold a relevant qualification or who have attended the Beginners Facial Therapy PBT course.

This is not necessary if the student has relevant A&P knowledge, but you need the facial course if they choose to "add in a full facial" on top of the 7th Heaven treatment.

This wonderful facial incorporates the body and soul combination of specially adapted massage movements; Indian head massage, pressure point and lymph drainage are used within this treatment to create a feeling of total peace of harmony in our stressful world today. The Chakras are identified and balanced by using visual identification techniques. Crystals are used to balance the Chakras and pendants are used to identify any blockages. This is the first facial to incorporate crystals within the facial routine: whilst the mask is applied, the appropriate crystals are selected and placed within the mask onto the face. This is more than a facial, it is a special experience not to be missed!

VTCT IHBC Facial Electrical Unit M18/Level 3 A must have for your insurance if you want to use any mechanical and electrical equipment on your client's face. Includes theory and practical: Faradic, Galvanic, Iontophorisis, Desincrustation, Micro Current, Percussion, Audio Sonic, Brushing and Vacuum.
	Approximate time: 2 days 10am - 5pm
	Cost: £300 per student + £8 VTCT fees.
	Pre-requisite: Level 2 facial unit or equivalent

Indian Head Massage (1 day) Students will learn the relaxing art of Indian Head Massage, which will enable them to offer this fantastic, popular and relaxing treatment to all their clients. Areas covered include; a background into this Ayurvedic treatment, routine of massage movements, identifying different oils and their benefits, how to adapt the treatment for different clients, relaxation techniques and a discovery of the Chakras - what they are, where they are, what they mean and how to balance them!

Swedish Body Massage Course Day One : Anatomy & Physiology Foundation (students with previous A & P training are not required to attend this day). Day Two : Students will learn about the history and benefits of massage, different massage techniques and moves, safe and hygienic practices, contra-indications, consultation, anatomy and physiology of lower body, demonstration and student practical - home work and case studies required. Day Three : Tutorial, case study feedback, anatomy and physiology of the upper body, use of different oils, demonstration and student practical for upper body massage - homework and case studies required. Day Four : Anatomy and Physiology continued, front upper body continued, full body massage demonstration and student practical - homework and case studies required. Day Five : Students will hand in all coursework and case studies to be marked, multiple choice exam paper to take, student practical assessment exam of two full body massages to be performed - finish session ways of promoting business and sales.
